Small Business Assistance
Air Quality has developed a self-audit for small businesses interested in determining if they are in compliance. The audit, along with a list of common problems inspectors encounter, will help identify areas which may need further attention. Air Quality's Small Business Assistance Program provides free technical support, information, and on-site consultation. For more information, e-mail Paul Harding or phone 801-536-4108.
A checklist has been developed to evaluate a small business' hazardous waste management practices and to provide a schedule for the company to return to compliance. The checklist, and the EPA publication, Understanding the Hazardous Waste Rules: A Handbook for Small Businesses are generally very effective in helping small quantity generators understand and comply with the Rules. (Both documents are provided in PDF format and open in a new window).
Basic hazardous waste training sessions (about 2 hours) for businesses, as well as presentations on hazardous waste management and pollution prevention can be provided. E-mail Scott Hopkins or call 801-538-6788.
