DEQ is hosting a Climate Registry Orientation meeting on Tuesday, August 26 at 9 a.m. in Room 101, 168 N. 1950 West in Salt Lake City. Industry and other organizations that are considering participation – or who are simply curious – will find the session beneficial. Also, later that day, DEQ will host a workshop on Reporter protocol and verification. That will begin at 1:30 p.m. at the same location. E-mail for more information. The Western Climate Initiative has released Draft Design Recommendations for the WCI cap-and-trade program and a second document, Draft Essential Requirements of Mandatory Reporting.
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency has released a Proposed Rule on Geologic Carbon Sequestration. News Release and more information on the Proposed Rule and geologic sequestration are available online.
EPA has also issued an Advance Notice of Proposed Rulemaking: Regulating Greenhouse Gas Emissions under the Clean Air Act. More information and a News Release are also available.
