Potential Utah Policy Options
The Blue Ribbon Advisory Council (BRAC)
on Climate Change was organized by Governor Jon M. Huntsman on August 25, 2006. Its purpose was to provide a forum where representatives from government, industry, environment and the community could have a productive dialogue regarding the options available in Utah to address climate change. One year later, the BRAC delivered a report to the Governor that incorporated a set of policy options and recommendations it had formulated and voted on.
The following tables outline the options contained in that report:
- Table 1: Options Organized by Sector
- Table 2: Options Organized by Number of Votes
- Table 3: Options Organized by Priority (coming soon)
The following charts assisted the BRAC in making its recommendations:
- Chart 1: Estimated Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Emission Reductions by Option (based on information from other States)
- Chart 2: Estimated Cost per Ton CO2e Reduced by Option (based on information from other States)
