Earth Day is celebrated around the world on April 22. Although larger events such as festivals and rallies are often organized for the weekends before or after April 22, many communities also celebrate Earth Week or Earth Month by organizing a series of environmental activities throughout the month of April.

On this page you will find information about Earth Day events and activities, as well as some helpful tips on recycling, Pollution Prevention, energy conservation, and other suggestions for what you can do to help protect our environment.

This year, the Utah Department of Environmental Quality is participating in the events listed below:

Water Week - May 4-10, 2008

Water Week

In 2007, Governor Jon M. Huntsman, Jr. signed into law a bill creating "Utah State Water Week". This year May 4-10th will be the second annual Water Week. This is an opportunity for the water industry to promote within our communities a better understanding of the varied issues related to water. Activities will include water celebrations and fairs, public library program, high school water art and education program and film screening and issues dialogue program.
