Opposition to High-Level Nuclear Waste: Religious Resolution
As religious leaders with responsibility for minority congregations in Utah, we the undersigned wish to express our protest to the storage of nuclear waste in the Goshute Valley, 45 miles from Salt Lake City.
We join the many people in Utah opposed to this project because we are aware that even the political boundaries of this state and of the Goshute Nation do not come near to limiting the damage that such disposal may eventually cause to our land, damage to its soil, atmosphere, water and other vulnerable resources. We respectfully submit this protest and hope it will be worthy of your consideration.
