SOLID AND HAZARDOUS WASTE
The Deseret Chemical Depot will hold an information meeting on November 8, 2006, at 6:00 p.m. at the Tooele Chemical Stockpile Public Outreach Office for a Class 2 modification (06.03278) to its Tooele Chemical Agent Disposal Facility (TOCDF) Permit. The TOCDF is proposing to incorporate additional guidance from the Department of Army, U.S. Army Chemical Materials Agency (CMA). The CMA has issued guidance to provide additional clarification for the definitions of Short-Term Exposure Limit (STEL) and an expanded definition for the term Vapor Screening Limit (VSL). In addition, TOCDF is proposing a change to modify the automatic sampling sequence for each MDB Exhaust Filter Unit Automatic Continuous Air Monitoring System (ACAMS) to monitor sequentially at filter mid-bed 2, mid-bed 3, and the filter enclosure regardless of the operational status of the filter unit.

SOLID AND HAZARDOUS WASTE
The Tooele Army Depot (TEAD) will hold an information meeting on December 5, 2006, at 6:00 p.m. at the Tooele County Courthouse for a Class 2 Modification (06.03449) to its Hazardous Waste Storage and Incineration Permit. TEAD is requesting Condition VI.D.1.a.i be modified to replace the wording regarding the integrity of the pan in sentence 2 of that condition. The second sentence would be modified to read, “The integrity of each pan shall be evaluated by visual inspection prior to use”.

SOLID AND HAZARDOUS WASTE
The Division of Solid and Hazardous Waste (DSHW) will hold a public hearing on January 10, 2007 at the Magna Library at 6:00 p.m. The Utah Solid and Hazardous Waste Control Board is proposing to approve a Sampling and Analysis Plan (SAP) for three spill sites at the ATK Launch Systems, Bacchus Works facility (ATK-Bacchus) in West Valley City, Utah. This SAP will address how ATK-Bacchus plans to investigate and assess the magnitude and extent of contamination at spill sites: SP-3, 4, and 5. ATK-Bacchus has prepared this SAP in accordance with the provisions of the approved RCRA Facility Investigation (RFI) Work Plan for this facility. The Plan has been reviews by the DSHW and found to be acceptable. In accordance with the applicable State rules and regulations, the DSHW is conducting a public comment period and hearing on this SAP.
