The Deseret Chemical Depot (DCD) will hold a public information meeting on June 20, 2007, at the Tooele Chemical Stockpile Public Outreach Office for a Class 3 Modification (07.01457) to its Tooele Chemical Agent Disposal Facility (TOCDF) permit at 6:00 p.m. TOCDF is now in the process of destroying Mustard-filled munitions and containers. Mustard 155-mm projectiles represent the only 155-mm projectiles still remaining in the DCD stockpile. TOCDF is proposing a modified processing strategy to be implemented for the Mustard projectiles due to the fact that their original liquid contents are approximately 75% solidified. The undrainable contents of the Mustard projectiles would remain in the projectiles throughout thermal treatment in the Metal Parts Furnace (MPF), as opposed to the previous strategy of draining the contents out and processing the chemical agent in a separate furnace. Because the MPF processing of full trays of undrained projectiles represents an increase in the average hourly agent feed rate to the MPF, an approved trial burn will be performed to demonstrate a greater capability of the MPF.

EnergySolutions, LLC will hold a public information meeting on June 21, 2007, at 7:00 p.m. at the Tooele County Courthouse for a Class 2 Modification (07.01499) to its Part B Permit. EnergySolutions seeks to allow for a delay in the installation of monitoring wells from 12/31/07 until 12/31/09 due to a delay in construction of sumps 10A and 10B.

The Tooele Army Depot (TEAD) will hold a public information meeting on June 26, 2007, at the Tooele County Building at 6:30 p.m. for a Class 2 modification (07.01157) to its Post-Closure Permit. TEAD proposes to incorporate by reference, the Corrective Measures Completions Reports for Solid Waste Management Units 20, 21, 34, 42, 52d, and 12/15. It also proposes to incorporate by reference, the 2006 Groundwater Flow and Contaminant Transport Modeling Report and the Spring 2006 Groundwater Monitoring Report; update figures and tables reflecting newly installed monitoring wells; add a summary of groundwater modeling activities conducted in 2006; and update the phase completion dates for milestones and deliverables required by the permit.

The modification seeks to remove the requirement for perimeter monitoring at Station 912, located within the Tooele Chemical Agent Disposal Facility (TOCDF) area.
