What is the CEH Project?
The Children's Environmental Health (CEH) Geographic Initiative/Environmental Justice project is a multi-agency/organization, collaborative project focusing on reducing environmental risks to children's health. The CEH was initiated by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) with the assistance of state and local government partners.
The project is in its early stages and while goals have been drafted, they have not been finalized and a project structure and timeline has not yet been developed.
Where is the Project Taking Place?
The project is focused on the communities of: Glendale, Jordan Meadows, Poplar Grove, Rose Park, State Fairpark, Westpointe, Downtown, Capitol Hill, and Ballpark. For specific project boundaries please see the map attached below.
Who is Involved?
Current partners include the EPA, Utah Department of Environmental Quality, Utah Department of Health, Salt Lake Valley Health Department, Salt Lake County, and the Salt Lake City Office of Sustainability. Community partners who have been participating include: Utah Society for Environmental Education, Envision Utah, University Neighborhood Partners, Breathe Utah, Neighborworks, and the Rose Park and Fairpark Neighborhood Councils.
Examples of What this Project can Achieve
